Virtual Classroom

Virtual Classroom courses are face-to-face courses conducted in an ITV room. The instructor delivers the course at one campus and it is broadcast to the ITV room at another campus. Students may be at the same location as the instructor or at the location to which it is being broadcasted. The instructor will alternate campuses each week. The instructor may choose to set up an accompanying online site using the course management software.

Questions

Requirement and Recommendations

What is Virtual Classroom (ITV)?

The WCCCD ITV currently allows students to take live interactive classes by television at all campus locations. Generally, instructors rotate between ITV locations, providing students with the opportunity of live contact.

Will my instructor attend any of my classes?

Yes. Instructors rotate each class session from one campus to the next. For example (a Monday/Wednesday class), on Monday's the instructor will be at campus A and will be on the television screen at campus B. On Wednesday's the instructor will be at campus B and will be on television at campus A.

Will the instructor be able to see and hear me?

Yes. Each class is equipped with multiple cameras and microphones. Simply raise your hand and call the instructors name. The Instructor will be able to hear and see you in real time.

How will I get my assignment to my instructor?

The instructor has multiple ways including Blackboard, faxing, email or during her/his rotation. The instructor will inform the class regarding assignment handling.
